As the Cowra Senior Soccer Club prepares for the upcoming season, preseason training is well underway, with a strong focus on building fitness and team cohesion.
Following an undefeated championship last season, the team is eager to maintain their momentum and defend their title.
Captain Courtney Booth emphasised the importance of fitness in the early stages of preseason, noting that it was an area the team needed to improve on from the previous year.
“It is going well,” she said.
“We are really focused on fitness so far, as it is one thing we lacked a little last season.”

“So, we want to work really hard in that area early so that as we get closer to the season, we can work on our gameplay,” Courtney said.
The team’s success last year has fueled excitement and motivation for the season ahead.
“We’re really excited to be back,” she said.
“Coming off an undefeated championship is obviously a big momentum kicker for the girls.”
“Everyone is keen to come back and defend the title.”
Courtney also highlighted her personal goals as captain, aiming to lead by example and provide consistent support to her teammates.
“Just motivating the girls through the whole season,” Courtney said.
“And I want to make sure I am showing up for the team each week, leading by example, and helping those who need it.”
With a few new players joining the squad, Courtney praised the club’s welcoming culture and how well the team bonds both on and off the field.
“We have a couple of newcomers this year, and I think one thing our club does really well is welcoming new players,” she said.
“It is something I am super proud of, how welcoming the club is to anyone and everyone.”
“How well we gel together.”
“Everyone gets along so well, and I think that then shows on the field, how well we show up for each other, and no one wants to let anyone down,” Courtney said.
