The Cowra Golf Championships will take place over two weekends, March 15-16 and March 22-23, 2025, bringing together some of the club’s best golfers to compete for the title.
Open exclusively to playing members, the tournament features A, B, and C-grade divisions, with all events played in stroke format.
Jamie Judd, the event organiser, highlighted the significance of the competition for local golfers.
“Anybody that is a playing member here is eligible to play,” Jamie said.

“It helps encourage golfers to come along,” he said.
Among the key players to watch is Peter Kerwin, a long-time champion who has claimed the title many times.
His biggest rival, Mick Curtale, has challenged him for the past seven or eight years and is expected to do so again this year.
Jared Wood and Han Kang are also in strong form leading into the tournament.
A rising star to watch is 12-year-old David King, who currently plays off a handicap of four or five.
“If he can put together four good rounds, he’ll be one to watch,” Jamie said.
“It’ll be exciting to see how he performs against the more experienced players.”
Organising the championship requires extensive preparation, from securing sponsorships to maintaining the course.
Leigh Browne Building has returned as a major sponsor, providing essential support for the event.
Ensuring the greens are in top condition and the fairways are well-groomed is a priority for the club’s greenkeeping staff and volunteers.
“We can always use more volunteers,” Jamie said. “There’s always something to do, whether it’s course maintenance or event preparations.”
