Inspector Thomas Murdoch is the new officer in charge at Cowra Police Station.
Inspector Murdoch commenced in at the position in July 2024 overseeing operations for Chifley Police District with officers from Canowindra, Woodstock, Gooloogong, Carcoar, Mandurama, Millthorpe, and Blayney
Having worked in the police force for 15 years, with a decade in Sydney and eventually moving to Cootamundra, Mr Murdoch now lives in the region with his family and says "regional policing does have its challenges, but I believe the benefits and positives far outweigh those challenges"..
"I'm really passionate about regional policing and really enjoy working and living in the area.
"There's a real ability to make a difference within the community, I'm happy to be here to engage with people in the region, and share some of what we do.," he said.
