Assault occurred in front of school

A 50 year-old Cowra woman charged with assaulting an elderly woman in front of a Cowra school was placed on a 15 month Community Corrections Order in the Local Court on November 26, 2024.

Georgia Michelle Ridley of Lee Street pleaded guilty to common assault when she appeared before magistrate Rana Daher.

“It was an unfortunate episode and isolated,” Ridley’s solicitor told the court.

“Drugs were a factor,” the court was told before Ridley’s solicitor added she “is back on track”.

Police documents revealed Ridley pushed her victim against a car, slapping the victim in the face.

The victim attempted to walk away but fell to the ground after being pushed by Ridley.

Whilst on the ground Ridley, according to police, kicked the victim before kneeling and proceeding to punch the victim in the head before nearby parents came to the aid of the victim.

When later questioned by police Ridley claimed she was assaulted first and made admissions to pushing the victim over and kicking the victim.
