Try A Trade Day at Cowra High School last week was an amazing success!
Schools from across the shire as well as Cowra Council, Cowra Police and a plethora of local businesses were on hand to participate in one of the biggest days on the local calendar for students. Stall holders included a raft of organisations including health businesses, agricultural services, emergency services, defence, educational bodies such as TAFE, recruitment agencies such as Verto, construction, blue collar trades, make-up and hair dressing, real estate, mining, physiotherapy, and roads infrastructure.
With many students choosing not to go onto tertiary studies, days like Try A Trade Day are vital to help teenagers navigate the next steps in their education and career paths. Such flexibility allows them to balance study with work and real experiences that give them a taste of what working life maybe like when they finish school and focus on their careers.
