Cowra Eagles womens grade are getting excited about the upcoming season

As the 2025 union season approaches, Senior Women’s Coach Jamie Amos is optimistic about the team’s preparation and frienship, reflecting on the initial stages of preseason training.

The first session set a welcoming and playful tone, with games and fun activities fostering a sense of excitement for the season ahead.

“Yeah, we had a really good turnout, so that was nice,” Jamie said.

“It was a bit of a wave-back feel for the first one, just getting back together and all getting excited for the season.”

With the season still weeks away, Jamie explained that the primary focus for preseason training is fitness.

“For the beginning, like until we start doing the usual season training, we'll be focusing more on fitness. That will be our main goal for the start,” she said.

Once the regular season begins, training will shift to developing technique through repetition.

“Then once we get started into the other stuff, it will be a lot of technique, repetition of technique,” Jamie added.

The team has seen a couple of new players, including one who traveled all the way from Dubbo to attend training.

Jamie shared her excitement about the new additions, saying, “we had a few new faces the other day, and we have quite a lot on our little chat that are new and will hopefully join us somewhere along the way”.

The atmosphere among the players has been described as vibrant and inclusive.

“The atmosphere was fabulous,” Jamie said.

“Tunes pumping and some cold drinks at the end. Really good. We all know each other now, and the new faces usually know each other from a different teams and games.”
