Alicia Earsman has had a remarkable year on the footy field. The Canowindra girl and Western Rams star not only steered her Rams to their maiden NSWRL Women’s Country Championships title back in March over the North Coast Bulldogs with a two-try player of the match performance but now she has claimed the top gong at a glitzy New South Wales Rugby League gala event that doubled as the Brad Fittler Medal.
She has come a long way since the days of playing against her brothers Aaron and Kane on the back lawn in Canowindra years ago to the point where she is now a senior member of the Western Rams side and one of the best up-and-coming front rowers in the women's game. A game that now has clear pathways for women into the NRLW.
In front of a capacity crowd that included family and friends, Earsman beat all comers to take the top prize after a string of strong performances for club and rep sides over the 2024 season. Earsman also topped the try-scoring for the 2024 Country Championships with five in three games showing that she knows how to find the line when the pressure is on.
Previously listed as a prop for the Country team, the Western Rams product - who also lists state swimming amongst her achievements - has a playing background as a five-eighth, making her a real handful for opposing sides.
It caps off a remarkable twelve months dating back to last years Canowindra Tigers presentation when she also took home Players Player and was Runner Up in the Best and Fairest.
