Last week the Rotary Club of Cowra World Peace Day Dinner was held at Club Cowra.
With guest speaker, former Socceroo Craig Foster AM inspiring and entertaining the throng of attendees with his life in professional sport, media and charity work, in a career that has seen him travel to the far corners of the globe. All eyes were also on who would be named the 2024 Rotary Club of Cowra Peace Award recipient.
This year's winner was Libby Bleakley from Rotary Club of Blackheath District 9685 who was on hand to receive her award with many from her home club also in attendance.
Both clubs have strong ties to each other and Libby's outstanding contributions to the broader community even predating her time with Rotary, made her an obvious and deserving choice for the award.
Among her many achievements, Libby Bleakley was the driving force behind the RAWCS project and gathered support from other Rotary Clubs throughout our District.
