New nesting sites are needed to revitalise the population of Superb Parrots across the region.
Spanning from Hobby's Yards to Goolongong, and from Koorawatha to Cudal, Mid-Lachlan Landcare are seeking expressions of interest to establish nesting sites, and protect crucial habitats.
Project coordinator Tracee Burke, said the program seeks to offset "what all species have been facing; land clearing and loss of habitat."
Those wishing to take part in re-establishing safer habitats for our superb neighbours can see up to 70 percent of their costs subsidised when building suitable nesting sites.
New nest sites provide a haven for birds which would otherwise avoid the area in search of safer shelter.
Ms Burke said she hopes the program will increase the numbers of parrots in the region, with numbers stagnating in recent years.
Interested landholders can contact Mid-Lachlan Landcare by email at midlachlanlandcare@gmail.com
Expressions of interest in the program must be received by Sunday, February 11.
