After a deferral and two forfeits the Cowra women's soccer side returned to the field with a 2-0 win over second placed Waratah Blue on Saturday.
"We knew it was going to be tough and it was, they kept us to 0-0 until the last 15 minutes," captain Courtney Gambrill said.
"The girls held their nerve and we knew if we just kept our patience the goals would come."
On a positive sides some brilliant saves from goalkeeper Linda Woods kept the Cowra girls in the game before the deadlock was broken by Danielle Wright with 15 minutes to go through a cracking shot from almost the half way line which didn't give their goalkeeper a chance. A goal from Erin McAuliffe off a Gambrill corned sealed the win.
Next weekend we take on Blayney in Blayney on Saturday.
