Pony club welcomes a new president

Cowra Pony Club recent had the opportunity to work closely with Cowra RDA to host the Governor of NSW whilst on her visit to Cowra for the 80th anniversary of the POW Breakout commemoration.

Cowra Pony Club Riders ranging from 4-10, demonstrated their horsemanship and did their club proud.

Each rider had the opportunity to have a one on one with the Governor, introducing their ponies and their favourite activities.

The older riders (9-10) demonstrated their excellent communication skills by coordinating their mounts through the bending poles in unison.

In other exciting news, The Cowra Pony Club has welcomed newly appointed president Jason Gavenlock.

Jason offers his broad knowledge and experience in the equine world, holding multiple Golden Ploughs on his mantle.

Jason is looking forward to seeing the Club grow.

Rally Days will be planned to give the young riders the opportunity to learn new skills and expand their knowledge across a variety of disciplines.

Previous rally's have included driving demonstrations and the chance to drive the sulky and a weighing day in which JJ Dresser & Co kindly offered the use of their stock scales where the children were able to see a wide variety of weights from as small as Shiloh the Shetland all the way up to Wally the Australian Draught Horse.

Nicole from Nicole Allan Equine Education also brought in her Warm blood Andretti to really test the guessing skills.

A big thank you to Nicole for volunteering her time to help our little riders.
