Cowra golf course saw plenty of activity in the week leading up to the Easter Classic. Tuesday we had 43 Players contest both the 9 and 18 hole competitions, Young gun David Kang winning the 18 hole event and Michael Prescott in the 9 hole comp. 16 Ladies competed on Wednesday with Sue Smith And Eileen Wilson have a 74 each Div1 and Cookie Dolbel with 77 in Div 2 . Thursday we had 52 players in the Pro comp with some great golf played A grade saw John Jensen have 37 points and Craig Jeffries with 36, B Grade saw Terry Winwood-Smith shoot 75 for 43 points and John Herrett 39 points runner up. C Grade had Elwyn Ward have 42 points and Luke O’Reilly41 points. Cowra Veterans also played their 9 hole competition with 42 players compete. Here we saw Rod Haug score a great 23 points.
The 47th Easter Classic began on Friday with over 80 visitors converging on the Town for this event. Also well supported by local golfers. The event was sponsored by Lachlan Fertilizer and Rural. The Good Friday event had Dean Coghlan, Chris Parkes, John Fielding and Jason Kitchingman along with Nicole Coghlan from Isagenix Sponsor the Day. Other Sponsors included Club Cowra, Telescope Tyres and Cowra Truck Wreckers.
