With preseason well underway, the Tigers are focused on fitness and ball work as they prepare for the upcoming season.
Attendance has been strong, and with many players returning from last year, the team is benefiting from a sense of familiarity and consistency.
Captain Kelly Price is optimistic about the squad’s progress, despite some changes due to injuries.
“We’ve had good numbers, and a lot of the same girls from last year, so everyone knows what to expect in terms of preseason,” she said.
“Getting our fitness up to where it needs to be and improving our ball work has been the main focus.”
After reaching the grand final last season, the Tigers are eager to build on their success.
“Everyone’s pretty excited to see how we go,” Price said.
“We’re going to have a bit of a different team this year because of injuries, but a lot of our squad remains the same, and we’re looking forward to playing again.”
New players have also settled in well, bringing a positive energy to training.
“They’ve integrated really well and have been really positive,” Price said.
The team’s defense remains its biggest strength, and Price hopes to maintain that edge this season.
“Last year, our strongest asset was definitely our defense. That’s something we want to continue working on and improving,” she said.
With the season fast approaching, the Tigers are looking forward to another competitive and exciting year.
“We’re just looking ahead and hoping for another great season,” Price said.
“We’ll see how we go, but the excitement is definitely there.”
