It’s looking positive for the womens Eagles

The Cowra Union First Grade Women's team is gearing up for an exciting season ahead, and coach Jamie Amos is confident about the team's potential.

With the release of the draw, the focus is on starting the season strong, especially with three home games in the first five rounds.

The first home game against Balls is set to be a key matchup that the team is eager to tackle.

“I am feeling positive,” Jamie said

“I mean the same teams as every other year, but we’re all feeling good and confident.”

“It’s really important that we get the most out of those home games in the first round.”

While travel can sometimes pose challenges for the team, Coach Amos believes that the squad’s solid numbers and committed players will ensure a successful season.

“I don't particularly see too much of a challenge,” she said.

“We've got good numbers, and we've got some really committed girls.”

“We've got all the girls, all the OGS are playing, and then we've got some new guns in the team.”

The team is shaping up well, with some exciting new additions, they’re ready to represent Cowra Union this season.

They are focusing on all aspects of the game, having rebuilt from the basics, and their goal is clear: to have the girls learn and perform to the best of their abilities.

“We started from the start and worked on everything and built everything,” Jamie said.

“We took it back to the basics.”

“We started at the beginning, and then we built on it as we’ve been going and it’s progressing really well,” she said.

The team is ready to kick off the 2025 season and will play their first game on April 12 against the Orange City Lions at Orange City Rugby Club.
