The Eugowra Canola Cup Carnival kicked off last Sunday September 29 at the Eugowra Showground Paceway for the heats of the Canola Cup to be held on the October long weekend and it was a day that belonged to the Turnbull clan who triumphed in five of the nine races.

After a third in the first with Miss Pendle Hill who was beaten home by Phantom Star, the Turnbull's went on a tear, winning Race 2 with Meg's Monaro, with another charger Deebo second in the same race. But there was more from the stable, with a treble in Race 4 the harness NSW Guaranteed Ladyship Pace with Trioli, Ultimate Trouble and Questro Queen making up the trifecta.

Race 5 was more of the same with a first (Chart Topper) and third (Tinny Mahoney) while 4 year old Potter was second in the sixth. Rocknroll Raider got the nod in the seventh while the Tab App and Jack Daniels Old No. 7 Race 9 was one for the oldies with five year old Racing Time getting the chocolates over stable mates Rocket Boy and Tamanisha Terror third. It was their second treble of the meet and they will have plenty of fancies for the Cup this long weekend.

The day features live music, fashions on the field, pony races, dash for cash, jumping castles, horse & carriage rides, food vans, and of course the Canola Cup feature race.

Finals are on Monday October 7, 2024 from 12 noon - featuring $30,000 Kriden Farms Canola Cup and Family Picnic Day.
