New Minister for the Presbyterians

Len Woonings, a recent theological graduate of Christ College, Sydney, moved to Cowra in January with his wife Bec and two daughters Lucy and Emma, into the Manse at St Peter's Presbyterian Church.

On Saturday, August 17 at 1.30pm at the church at 48 Macquarie Street he will be ordained as a minister of the Presbyterian Church of Australia and inducted into the Parish of Cowra.

All are welcome to attend this service and would be very warmly welcomed.

Len was born in Western Australia and grew up in Albury.

He left school at 15 and apprenticed as a plasterer working in that trade for about 10 years.

Looking for a change he moved to Albury in NSW where he met his wife Bec.

Whilst in Albury he completed a ministry traineeship and spent time working with the Albury Presbyterian Churches until he and Bec moved to Sydney and he commenced his theological studies.

Len and Bec have three daughters, Lucy and Emma who attend Cowra Public School, and baby Elizabeth who was born at Cowra Hospital in April.

Bec has found the Mothers Group run by the child health nurses to be very supportive.

The Woonings family has thoroughly enjoyed their first six months in Cowra and have very happily settled into the community.
