One of the most promising junior golfers to come out of the Cowra Golf Club, David Kang, has showcased his talent by securing second place in the NSW Junior Championships under 12 boys category.
David delivered consistent performances with rounds of 83, 82, 90, and 88, finishing second behind Ji Shiwon of Southern Golf Club in Victoria.
Shiwon clinched the title with a four-round total of 321, leading Kang by only two shots after the first two rounds.
The championship commenced at Liverpool Golf Club, with the final three days hosted at Cabramatta Golf Club.
Gold Coast junior Carter Bryce secured third place with a four-round total of 345.
Reflecting on his achievement, David expressed his satisfaction, saying "it felt great placing this rank, I haven't placed second in a while".
"It was a tough week, wet and no run. I'm pretty happy with my results," he said.
Looking ahead, David is focused on his upcoming goals for the rest of the year and in the near future.
"At the moment I'm preparing for the Catholic School golf team selection and PSSA golf trials, trying to get into the NSW golf team," he said.

"I'm training at home and going on the course when I can."
David has set his older self some ambitious goals as well.
"My goals for this year is just to get my handicap to about three or four and shoot an official round in under par or scratch," David said.
"I want to become a pro golfer, hopefully in ten years time I will be in the top ten pros in the world.
"In the future I'd also like to represent Australia in the Olympics."
