COWRA'S Enablement Services team are proud to be a part of International Day of People with a Disability.
International Day of People with a Disability (IDPwD) is about coming together as a community to raise awareness, understand and celebrate the achievements and contributions of people with a disability.
If you or someone you know has an NDIS plan and requires assistance with personal care, in-home support, accessing the community, recreational activities, group programs, respite or support from an AHA (Allied Health Assistant) who can implement Speech, Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist programs in home, pre-school or school setting then phone Diane on 0421766172 or pop into the shop (top end of town under the arches).
The Enablement Services team are passionate, motivated and committed to providing a quality service that promotes client individual choice for people who have an NDIS plan in Cowra or surrounding areas.
Having choice and control over your supports enables you to use multiple service providers or individuals if preferred. Plans are individual and allow for greater flexibility.
IDPwD aims to promote community awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability.
Each year the UN announces a theme to observe for the day.
The annual theme provides an overarching focus on how society can strive for inclusivity through the removal of physical, technological and attitudinal barriers for people with disability.
This has been occurring since 1992 when the General Assembly announced December 3 as the International Day of Disabled Persons.
In Australia, IDPwD is a joint effort between government, schools, organisations, community groups, businesses and individuals. IDPwD is an opportunity to be part of creating an inclusive and diverse community for the 4.4 million Australians with disability.
