Darby's Falls Rural Fire Service has been the lucky recipient of a new 4x4 Isuzu FTS 800 Series fire tanker. The six-seater truck is state-of-the-art with the latest in fire-fighting tech as well as a 3500 litre galvanised steel tank.
For local volunteer, Jock Mackillop, the new donation from Canobolas RFS will help immensely.
"We now have a reliable machine with more safety features and the ability to respond to incidents more effectively," said Jock.
"A better performing vehicle means our crews can act on information in a more timely manner. This replacement tanker is exactly what we needed," he said.
The truck was presented to the Darby's Falls RFS on July 31 and has already been taken on test drives to establish it's capability and capacity.
"We have taken it out a few times already on trial runs," said Jock.
The $350,000 vehicle comes from discretionary NSW Government funds and is a vital addition to the Darby's Falls fleet.
