Canowindra’s own Perennialle nursery has made it to the nation’s capital, awarded runner-up in the Nursery & Garden Industry (NGINA) for NSW & ACT Gala Awards night.
As the peak body for nurseries, NGINA's awards night had placed Canowindra’s Chris Cuddy in a tough fight against other businesses based in areas with higher populations, with Perrenialle punching well above its weight with over 3000 votes in the People’s Choice awards, landing Perennialle with third place.
Owner Chris Cuddy considered the placing as a huge achievement for the well-loved country town nursery.
“We’re unique in the industry because we have our cafe, nursery and only sell the plants we grow” he said.
The award will take pride of place at the nursery, for visitors and regulars to spot amongst the greenery and coffee cups on their next visit.
The winning place went to a nursery in Tuncurry, which had over 6000 people voting.
Mr Cuddy said visiting judges who had made their way to the nursery in Canowindra ahead of the awards had made special effort to compliment the work and standard of service at Perennialle, with Mr Cuddy adding “It’s great for the staff to be recognised, if you don’t have staff and customers you of course don’t have a business, so it’s a good to have our hard work acknowledged.”
NGINA posted “We’re thrilled to share that Perennialle Plants Nursery, Cafe and Emporium has been named a finalist in the People's Choice Award; this recognition celebrates Chris and his team's exceptional commitment to high-quality plants, unique offerings, and outstanding customer service.”
