Cowra is set to celebrate one of its own as Stephen Lovett, the town’s renowned boxing star, gears up to launch his highly anticipated book, “Tough Is Not Enough,” on Saturday, October 19, at Club Cowra. The event will kick off at 5 p.m., and all are invited to join the festivities.

Stephen Lovett’s journey from the Cowra PCYC in 1998 to a distinguished career in boxing is nothing short of extraordinary. From competing on the global stage as an amateur to living and boxing out of Houston, Texas, Lovett has experienced the highs and lows of a sport that has shaped his life. After more than two decades in the ring, including the intense final years of his professional career, Lovett turned to writing to capture his profound experiences.

“I started writing after being disappointed once again in the final years of my professional career,” said Stephen Lovett.

“The book traces my life in boxing, my search for love, some of the jobs I've had, and the many people I met throughout my life.”

“Tough Is Not Enough” offers an intimate look at Lovett’s personal and professional journey, reflecting on the resilience and determination required to thrive both in and out of the ring. Lovett chose to launch his book in Cowra, the place where his boxing career first began, to honor the town that has been his foundation.

The book will be available for purchase at the launch for $25. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet Stephen Lovett, hear about his incredible experiences, and secure a signed copy of “Tough Is Not Enough.”
