Jack Stott leads the Cowra Blues Club into the 2025 season

Jack Stott, who took over as president midway through the previous season, is focused on continuing the success of the men’s team and building a strong, supportive environment for the ladies' team.

His goal is to lead the club to even greater achievements in 2025, both on and off the field.

“We definitely want to continue on the good path that the men’s side has been on, especially after last year’s premiership,” said Jack.

“We’ve had a couple of solid final seasons, and we want to keep that momentum going.”

For the ladies' team, Jack is equally determined to nurture the bond that is starting to form.

With a couple of seasons under their belt, the players are enjoying themselves and the camaraderie is growing.

“The ladies have now got a few seasons under their belt, and we just want to continue to grow that bond,” Jack explained.

“There are players who are really enjoying themselves, and the overall togetherness of the club is something we really value.”

Beyond the on-field performance, Jack has a clear vision of making the club a place for social connection and enjoyment.

The club aspires to be more than just a "footy club"—Jack wants it to be a community hub where everyone feels connected.

“We’re working towards being more than just a footy club,” he said.

“We want to create an environment where everyone can get together and socialize, both on and off the field.

“It’s important to build that atmosphere where everyone feels welcome and enjoys being part of the team.”

One of the club’s biggest challenges this year is expanding the junior program.

Jack and his team are focused on bringing in more players and coaches, particularly for the under-7 team.

“The biggest challenge right now is getting our junior teams going again,” Jack said.

“We’ve got a coach lined up for the under-17s, and we’re hopeful we can get them on the field soon.

“But we’re also looking for more coaches and players to help build that foundation for the future of the club.”

In addition to the under-17s, the club is striving to expand its junior side further, aiming to build a strong future pipeline of players.

Preseason training for the ladies' team will begin tonight, with the season ahead looking promising.

The club’s coaching staff is already in place, with Emma Nobes and Chris Day coaching the men’s team, Mark Hyland leading the ladies, and Paul Basham set to guide the under-17s.

Reflecting on the dedication of others who’ve supported the club over the years, Jack acknowledged the invaluable efforts of key figures like Jess, Jeff, Robin, Chris, and Sarah, whose work has inspired him to keep pushing for the best.

“I always try to do more than what I was doing yesterday,” Jack said.

“The effort that people like Jess, Jeff, Robin, Chris, and Sarah have put in over the years is inspirational.

“It drives me to keep going and continue making the club better.”
