Blues have Bright future after big win in GF

Plenty of famous father-son duos have played together over the years. Some of the better known ones more recently include LeBron and Bronny James of the Los Angeles Lakers. But three father-son duos in the same grand final winning team?

While plenty of the focus was on the Cowra Blues bouncing back from their semi-final defeat to make their way into the Central West Tier Two Men's grand final last weekend, what many didn't know was that the side had three father-son duo's take the field for the Blues on grand final day last weekend.

With well over 1000 games between them, the three families are synonymous with AFL and well known throughout Cowra.

Caleb and Nathan Worth, Mason and Frank Bright as well as Braydon and Marc Hyland.

For the three double acts though it is a great way to bond with each other and stay fit and connected through sport.

And as for winning the grand final?

Now we have three father-son double premiership winners too!

The decider had everything and after a tense first quarter that saw both sides square, the Blues slowly began to assert their dominance and led at every changes thereafter.

John Terry was voted Best on Ground in the big dance and youngsters Worth and Bright also picked up a major each in a tidy display for Cowra against their big city rivals.

Despite desperate attempts from the Bushrangers to spoil Cowra's ascendency in the midfield, the Blues proved too classy in the key moments getting the nod for 2024.

Well done Blues on another great season and on winning the flag!
