McKenzie, 26, of Cooyal Street was before the court charged with low range drink driving and exceeding the speed limit by 14km/hr.
Representing himself McKenzie told the court he was "remorseful" and "I'd like to hold my licence".
"You're an inexperienced driver and shouldn't be behind the wheel under the influence of alcohol," magistrate Rana Daher told McKenzie.
Ms Daher placed McKenzie on a 10 month Conditional Release Order and banned him from driving for one month on the drink driving charge.
She also imposed a mandatory interlock order of 12 months on his licence.
He was convicted and fined $550 for travelling at 114km/hr in a 100km/hr signposted area.
Police documents tabled in court revealed McKenzie was stopped due to the speed he was travelling about 7.549pm on January 29 this year.
Asked why he was speeding McKenzie told police "I just want to get home".
